10 YEARS “IN THE ZONE”
In The Zone is the fourth studio album of Britney Spears and it was released on November 16, 2003 with contributions of a wide range of producers, including Bloodshy & Avant, R. Kelly, Trixster, Moby, Guy Sigsworth and The Matrix.
Britney first started writing songs for In the Zone during the Dream Within a Dream Tour and started recording of the album in early 2003 and the first song recorded for In the Zone was Touch of My Hand.
The album sold 609,000 units in its first week and debuted at #1 on Billboard Hot 100 becoming the second highest debut sales of 2003 by a female artist as well as the fifth highest debut sales of the year and eight best selling album of 2003!
Additionally, In the Zone also debuted at number-one in France, Korea, Mexico and Argentina, and it had top-ten debuts in Germany, Canada, Australia, Denmark, Japan, Austria, Holland, Switzerland and Ireland.
The album sold 10 million worldwide and featured 3 worldwide hits singles; Me Against The Music, Toxic, and Everytime.
It’s the era she really took control over her musical direction!
Jive Records chose Outrageous as the first single, but Britney convinced them to use Me Against The Music.
The label also slated (I Got That) Boom Boom for the second single, but instead Britney chose Toxic and earns her very first Grammy Awards for Best Dance Recording in 2005.
The Onyx Hotel Tour, a tour to promote In The Zone was held in 2004.
