13 YEARS “OOPS!… I DID IT AGAIN”

May 16 marks the 13 years of Britney’s second album, “Oops!… I Did It Again” 

The album debuted at the top on Billboard 200, with first-week sales of 1,319,000 copies crowned Britney as the highest debut-week album sales by a solo artist.

“Oops!” is certified 4x platinum in Indonesia also certified diamond and sold 20 million units to date

Four singles were released from the album, they are “Oops!… I Did It Again”, “Lucky”, “Stronger” and “Don’t Let Me Be The Last To Know”

  • Till the World Ends (TTWE) released as the second single from, Femme Fatale. It was written and produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin, with additional writing by Ke$ha and Alexander Kronlund, and additional production by Billboard.
  • Britney described TTWE as “fun. I like it. It’s good energy. I’m a vibe person, and I think I love good-mood songs, and if it puts me in a good mood, it clicks for me.”
  • TTWE sold 117,000 copies after its first three days of sales in the United States, debuting at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100 on the week of March 9, 2011
  • TTWE peaked at #3 on the Hot 100, becoming Britney’s eighth top-five hit and her third of 2011 after “Hold It Against Me” and the “S&M” remix with Rihanna
  • The song became Britney’s seventh #1 on Billboard Dance Song when it topped the chart in May 2011
  • On the week of July 10, 2011, the song surpassed two million downloads in the United States and it has sold over 2,638,000 copies there as of June 5, 2012.
  • A remixed version of TTWE, featuring Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj was released on iTunes on April 25, 2011.
  • The music video for TTWE was directed by Ray Kay and filmed inside a basement in Los Angeles, California. The video was choreographed by Brian Friedman.
  • TTWE available in 2 different music versions, a director’s cut and a choreography cut.
  • On July 2012, the video officially passed 100 million views, making it her second certified video on Vevo after “I Wanna Go”.
  • On September 16, 2012 Britney releasing TTWE-Twister Remix produced by Dr. Luke and Cirkut exclusive for Hasbro’s Twister Game.

4 years ago, The Circus Starring: Britney Spears tour kicks off New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana for the first time!

Check out the facts that you need to know about the sixth highest grossing tour ever by a female artist!

  • The Circus Starring Britney Spears (commonly referred to as the Circus Tour) was the seventh concert tour and the fourth world tour by Britney Spears.
  • It was launched to promote Britney’s sixth studio album Circus. 
  • It has 4 legs with total 97 shows (61 shows in North America, 22 in Europe and 14 in Australia)
  • A week after the tour was announced, 500,000 tickets were sold, prompting promoters to add more dates. The tour also broke attendance records in many cities, and all the North American shows were sold out.
  • The tour start at New Orleans Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana on March 3, 3009 and finish at Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Adelaide, Australia on November 29, 2009.
  • The Circus tour was directed and choreographed by Jamie King.
  • The musical director by Simon Ellis
  • The production designer by Road Rage
  • Lightning design by Visual Light, conformed by Whitehouse and Leitch
  • The stage was designed by Road Rage and Central Staging. The stage was built by Tait Towers and included nine lifts, which had a cost of $10 million.
  • The costumes were designed by Dean and Dan Caten from DSquared2
  • The Pussycat Dolls, Ciara, Jordin Sparks, Kristina DeBarge, Girlicious were selected as opening acts of the show.
